With the victory, West Tallahatchie improves its record to 10-6 on the campaign. The Choctaws host Simmons (Hollandale, MS) to confront the Blue Devils in a 1A Region 5 challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Blue Devils come into the challenge with a record of 6-9.

Next up, the Blue Devils confront the Calhoun City Wildcats (Calhoun City, MS) in a 2A Region 2 challenge, on Tuesday, January 16. Water Valley will attempt to improve on its 4-12 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 13-8 record after their 60-29 league win over Bruce (Bruce, MS).
