The Staunton River Golden Eagles (Moneta, VA) basketball crushed the visiting William Byrd Terriers (Vinton, VA), 67-45 in Saturday's league test.
The Golden Eagles (8-7) will now prepare for their test against Liberty (Bedford, VA). The Minutemen go into the non-league test with a 9-2 record. In their last test, Liberty walloped Rustburg (Rustburg, VA), 39-34, in a league test.
The Terriers now own a 6-7 record. They play next when they host Northside for a Blue Ridge test on Tuesday, January 16. William Byrd will encounter a Vikings squad coming off a 77-19 league loss to Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA). The Vikings record now stands at 4-10.
