In Friday's league outing, the William Byrd Terriers (Vinton, VA) basketball squad beat the visiting Staunton River Golden Eagles (Moneta, VA), by a count of 42-29.

The Terriers (9-11) will now prepare for their outing against Northside (Roanoke, VA). The Vikings go into the Blue Ridge outing with a 4-17 record. In their last outing, Northside was topped by Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA), 78-33, in a league outing.

The Golden Eagles now hold a 9-12 record. They play next when they travel to Fleming for a Blue Ridge outing on Monday, February 5. Staunton River will clash with a Colonels squad coming off a 70-43 non-league win over Carroll County (Hillsville, VA). The Colonels record now stands at 16-4.
