In Monday's league contest, the host Huntington Beach Oilers basketball team scored a good 43-34 win over the Newport Harbor Sailors.

The Oilers (12-9) will now prepare for their contest against Los Alamitos (Los Alamitos, CA). The Griffins come into the Sunset contest with a 15-6 record. In their last contest, Los Alamitos defeated Fountain Valley (Fountain Valley, CA), 53-51, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Sailors battle the Corona del Mar Sea Kings (Newport Beach, CA) in a Sunset contest, on Tuesday, January 14. Newport Harbor will attempt to better on its 8-13 season record. The Sea Kings come into the contest with a 13-7 record after their 51-25 league win over Edison (Huntington Beach, CA).
