Eureka Vandals (Eureka, NV) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Owyhee Braves (Owyhee, NV), 45-40 in a league bout.

With the victory, Eureka upgrades its record to 12-1 on the campaign. The Vandals host McDermitt (McDermitt, NV) to play the Bulldogs in a 1A Eastern bout on Friday, January 20. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 1-14. McDermitt lost 43-35 in their recent league bout against Carlin (Carlin, NV)

Next up, the Braves play the Independence Colts (Elko, NV) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 18. Owyhee will attempt to upgrade on its 12-1 season record.
