Waterloo West Wahawks (Waterloo, IA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Waterloo East Trojans (Waterloo, IA), 64-62 in a league bout.

With the win, Waterloo West upgrades its record to 11-1 on the season. The Wahawks travel to Xavier (Cedar Rapids, IA) to play the Saints in a Mississippi Valley bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Saints go into the bout with a record of 10-1. Xavier won 88-48 in their recent league bout against Iowa City (Iowa City, IA)

Next up, the Trojans play the Ottumwa Bulldogs (Ottumwa, IA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Waterloo East will attempt to upgrade on its 7-8 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 2-8 record after their 69-53 non-league loss to Des Moines East (Des Moines, IA).
