Mt. Carmel Golden Aces (Mt. Carmel, IL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Marshall Lions (Marshall, IL), 53-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mt. Carmel upgrades its record to 10-10 on the season. The Golden Aces travel to Paris (Paris, IL) to clash with the Tigers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 20-2. Paris won 85-22 in their recent non-league bout against Lawrenceville (Lawrenceville, IL)

Next up, the Lions clash with the Newton Eagles (Newton, IL) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 18. Marshall will attempt to upgrade on its 12-11 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 10-11 record after their 43-23 non-league win over Casey-Westfield (Casey, IL).
