Bertie Falcons (Windsor, NC) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Hertford County Bears (Ahoskie, NC), 53-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Bertie upgrades its record to 6-4 on the season. The Falcons host Perquimans (Hertford, NC) to clash with the Pirates in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 0-6. Perquimans lost 75-30 in their recent league bout against Riverside-Martin (Williamston, NC)

Next up, the Bears clash with the Currituck County Knights (Barco, NC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Hertford County will attempt to upgrade on its 4-6 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 6-6 record after their 69-36 league loss to Northeastern (Elizabeth City, NC).
