Tennessee High School Basketball - Anderson County nips Gibbs

The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Anderson County Mavericks (Clinton, TN) and the visiting Gibbs Eagles (Corryton, TN), observed Anderson County's basketball team edge Gibbs by a score of 71-65.

The Mavericks (4-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Clinton (Clinton, TN). The Dragons come into the 3A District 4 challenge with a 10-9 record. In their last challenge, Clinton edged Scott (Huntsville, TN), 70-44, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Eagles battle the Union County Patriots (Maynardville, TN) in a 3A District 4 challenge, on Friday, January 17. Gibbs will attempt to improve on its 8-11 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 6-4 record after their 74-64 league win over Cumberland Gap (Cumberland Gap, TN).
