The Gates County Red Barons defeated the visiting Perquimans Pirates basketball squad by a final score of 66-48 in Tuesday's league outing.
Next, the Red Barons clash with the Bear Grass Charter Bears (Williamston, NC) in a non-league outing, on Thursday, January 16. Gates County will attempt to upgrade on its 3-9 season record. The Bears come into the outing with a 5-6 record after their 64-43 league win over Cape Hatteras (Buxton, NC).
The Pirates (2-12) will now prepare for their outing against Martin County (Williamston, NC). The Gators come into the 1A Four Rivers outing with a 9-3 record. In their last outing, Martin County overcame North East Carolina Prep (Tarboro, NC), 74-43, in a league outing.
