The Valley Center Hornets basketball squad (Valley Center, KS), was crushed 66-40 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Hutchinson Salthawks (Hutchinson, KS)

With the victory, Hutchinson advances its record to 4-1 on the year. The Salthawks host Great Bend (Great Bend, KS) to meet the Panthers in a non-league battle on Friday, January 17. The Panthers enter the battle with a record of 7-1. Great Bend won 71-60 in their recent league battle against Garden City (Garden City, KS)

The Hornets now own a 7-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Maize for a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail I battle on Friday, January 17. Valley Center will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 56-43 league win over South (Salina, KS). The Eagles record now stands at 5-3.
