The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the North Murray Mountaineers (Chatsworth, GA) and the visiting Murray County Indians (Chatsworth, GA), observed North Murray's basketball team overcome Murray County by a margin of 56-47.

The Mountaineers (7-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Ringgold (Ringgold, GA). The Tigers come into the AA Region 7 challenge with a 9-8 record. In their last challenge, Ringgold defeated Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe (Fort Oglethorpe, GA), 64-51, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Indians battle the Sonoraville Phoenix (Calhoun, GA) in a AA Region 7 challenge, on Friday, January 17. Murray County will attempt to better on its 3-12 season record. The Phoenix come into the challenge with a 6-11 record after their 75-59 league loss to Union County (Blairsville, GA).
