The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Senatobia Warriors (Senatobia, MS) and the host South Pontotoc Cougars (Pontotoc, MS), observed Senatobia's basketball team knock off South Pontotoc by a score of 64-56.

The Warriors (12-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Independence (Independence, MS). The Wildcats come into the non-league challenge with a 11-7 record. In their last challenge, Independence was knocked off by Coahoma County (Clarksdale, MS), 54-38, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Cougars encounter the New Albany Bulldogs (New Albany, MS) in a 4A Region 2 challenge, on Friday, January 17. South Pontotoc will attempt to improve on its 12-8 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 14-5 record after their 65-45 league win over North Pontotoc (Ecru, MS).
