In Tuesday's league contest, the host George Wythe Maroons basketball team scored a big 72-42 triumph over the Auburn Eagles.
The Maroons (8-1) will now prepare for their contest against Narrows (Narrows, VA). The Green Waves go into the non-league contest with a 8-3 record. In their last contest, Narrows smashed Craig County (New Castle, VA), 58-13, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Eagles confront the Rural Retreat Indians (Rural Retreat, VA) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, January 15. Auburn will attempt to better on its 6-6 season record. The Indians go into the contest with a 4-5 record after their 54-37 non-league loss to Rye Cove (Clinchport, VA).
