North Carolina High School Basketball - East Rutherford knocks off R-S Central

The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the East Rutherford Cavaliers (Forest City, NC) and the visiting R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC), observed East Rutherford's basketball team overcome R-S Central by a margin of 42-29.

The Cavaliers (4-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Polk County (Columbus, NC). The Wolverines come into the 1A/2A Mountain Foothills 7 challenge with a 12-1 record. In their last challenge, Polk County defeated Chase (Forest City, NC), 67-10, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Hilltoppers battle the Chesnee Eagles (Chesnee, SC) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 15. R-S Central will attempt to better on its 3-11 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 2-13 record after their 43-33 league loss to Landrum (Landrum, SC).
