The Ashe County Huskies were victorious over the visiting Hibriten Panthers basketball squad by a final score of 60-40 in Wednesday's league outing.

Next, the Huskies clash with the Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) in a 3A/4A Northwestern outing, on Friday, January 17. Ashe County will attempt to upgrade on its 6-7 season record. The Patriots enter the outing with a 12-2 record after their 94-92 league win over South Caldwell (Hudson, NC).

The Panthers (3-13) will now prepare for their match against Watauga (Boone, NC). The Pioneers enter the 3A/4A Northwestern match with a 8-5 record. In their last match, Watauga lost by Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC), 68-65, in a league match.
