The crowd at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Central of Clay County Volunteers (Lineville, AL) and the visiting Cleburne County Tigers (Heflin, AL), observed Central of Clay County's basketball team knock off Cleburne County by a score of 61-47.

The Volunteers (12-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Sylacauga (Sylacauga, AL). The Aggies come into the 5A Area 8 challenge with a 17-2 record. In their last challenge, Sylacauga prevailed over Shelby County (Columbiana, AL), 64-56, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Tigers encounter the Anniston Bulldogs (Anniston, AL) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 16. Cleburne County will attempt to improve on its 11-10 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 16-5 record after their 55-26 league win over Munford (Munford, AL).
