Lanier Longhorns (Sugar Hill, GA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Habersham Central Raiders (Mt. Airy, GA), 64-60 in a league bout.

With the win, Lanier upgrades its record to 7-10 on the season. The Longhorns host Apalachee (Winder, GA) to clash with the Wildcats in a AAAAAA Region 8 bout on Friday, January 19. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 4-14. Apalachee lost 52-40 in their recent league bout against North Forsyth (Cumming, GA)

Next up, the Raiders clash with the Jackson County Panthers (Jefferson, GA) in a AAAAAA Region 8 bout, on Friday, January 19. Habersham Central will attempt to upgrade on its 14-4 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 8-10 record after their 54-42 league loss to Gainesville (Gainesville, GA).
