The Lanier Longhorns basketball team (Sugar Hill, GA), was nudged 62-59 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting Habersham Central Raiders (Mt. Airy, GA)

The Raiders now possess a 18-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Jackson County for a AAAAAA Region 8 battle on Friday, February 9. Habersham Central will confront a Panthers team coming off a 49-40 league loss to Gainesville (Gainesville, GA). The Panthers record now stands at 9-15.

The Longhorns (10-14) will now prepare for their battle against Apalachee (Winder, GA). The Wildcats come into the AAAAAA Region 8 battle with a 4-20 record. In their last battle, Apalachee was nudged by North Forsyth (Cumming, GA), 57-36, in a league battle.
