Washburn Castle Guards (Washburn, WI) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Lac Courte Oreilles Eagles (Hayward, WI), 60-36 in a league bout.

With the victory, Washburn upgrades its record to 5-6 on the campaign. The Castle Guards host Mellen (Mellen, WI) to play the Granite Diggers in a Northern Lights bout on Thursday, January 18. The Granite Diggers come into the bout with a record of 9-6. Mellen lost 58-43 in their recent league bout against South Shore (Port Wing, WI)

Next up, the Eagles play the Butternut Midgets (Butternut, WI) in a Northern Lights bout, on Thursday, January 18. Lac Courte Oreilles will attempt to upgrade on its 1-13 season record. The Midgets come into the bout with a 11-4 record after their 43-41 league loss to Hurley (Hurley, WI).
