Gaston Day Spartans (Gastonia, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Northside Christian Academy Knights (Charlotte, NC), 49-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Gaston Day upgrades its record to 13-0 on the season. The Spartans travel to Hickory Grove Christian (Charlotte, NC) to clash with the Lions in a bout on Friday, January 19. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 0-8. Hickory Grove Christian lost 53-34 in their recent league bout against Gaston Christian (Gastonia, NC)

Next up, the Knights clash with the Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors (Indian Trail, NC) in a bout, on Friday, January 19. Northside Christian Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 5-10 record after their 52-34 non-league win over Westminster Catawba Christian (Rock Hill, SC).
