The Abernathy Antelopes (Abernathy, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Roosevelt Eagles (Lubbock, TX), 49-46 in Tuesday's league test.
The Antelopes (14-6) will now prepare for their test against Idalou (Idalou, TX). The Wildcats go into the 3A Region I District 2 test with a 15-10 record. In their last test, Idalou got by Slaton (Slaton, TX), 63-36, in a league test.
The Eagles now own a 7-8 record. They play next when they host Childress for a 3A Region I District 2 test on Friday, January 20. Roosevelt will encounter a Bobcats squad coming off a 66-56 league loss to Shallowater (Shallowater, TX). The Bobcats record now stands at 14-7.
