In Friday's league outing, the Roosevelt Eagles (Lubbock, TX) basketball squad edged the visiting Abernathy Antelopes (Abernathy, TX), by a count of 61-59.

The Eagles (9-10) will now prepare for their outing against Childress (Childress, TX). The Bobcats go into the 3A Region I District 2 outing with a 19-7 record. In their last outing, Childress held off Shallowater (Shallowater, TX), 57-54, in a league outing.

The Antelopes now hold a 15-10 record. They play next when they host Idalou for a 3A Region I District 2 outing on Tuesday, February 7. Abernathy will clash with a Wildcats squad coming off a 59-45 league win over Slaton (Slaton, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 18-12.
