Illinois High School Basketball - Abingdon/Avon edges Monmouth United

The Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes (Abingdon, IL) basketball nipped the visiting Monmouth United Red Storm (Monmouth, IL), 52-49 in Tuesday's league test.

The Tornadoes (5-14) will now prepare for their test against Galva (Galva, IL). The Wildcats go into the Lincoln Trail test with a 0-20 record.

The Red Storm now own a 9-11 record. They play next when they host Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] for a Lincoln Trail test on Friday, January 20. Monmouth United will encounter a Spartans squad coming off a 60-39 league loss to Annawan (Annawan, IL). The Spartans record now stands at 5-15.
