North Carolina High School Basketball - Freedom knocked off by Watauga

The Watauga Pioneers basketball team scored 98 points and held the visiting Freedom Patriots to 80 in the Pioneers league triumph on Tuesday.
The Pioneers now sport a 9-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Ashe County for a 3A/4A Conference 52 contest on Friday, January 20. Watauga will battle a Huskies team coming off a 63-56 league loss to South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 6-11.
The Patriots (13-4) will now prepare for their contest against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC). The Cougars enter the 3A/4A Conference 52 contest with a 11-5 record. In their last contest, Alexander Central ran past Hibriten (Lenoir, NC), 40-38, in a league contest.
