Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) and the visiting Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC), saw Freedom's basketball squad hold off Watauga by a tally of 64-62.

With the victory, Freedom improves its record to 18-4 on the campaign. The Patriots host Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC) to confront the Cougars in a 3A/4A Conference 52 challenge on Friday, February 10. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 16-6. Alexander Central won 55-53 in their recent league challenge against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC)

Next up, the Pioneers confront the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) in a 3A/4A Conference 52 challenge, on Friday, February 10. Watauga will attempt to improve on its 11-12 season record. The Huskies come into the challenge with a 9-14 record after their 67-52 league win over South Caldwell (Hudson, NC).
