Wynne Yellowjackets (Wynne, AR) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Westside Warriors (Jonesboro, AR), 63-61 in a league bout.

With the victory, Wynne upgrades its record to 2-12 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets travel to Highland (Hardy, AR) to play the Rebels in a 4A Region 3 bout on Friday, January 20. The Rebels come into the bout with a record of 14-5. Highland won 60-35 in their recent league bout against Trumann (Trumann, AR)

Next up, the Warriors play the Blytheville Chickasaws (Blytheville, AR) in a 4A Region 3 bout, on Friday, January 20. Westside will attempt to upgrade on its 6-8 season record. The Chickasaws come into the bout with a 21-0 record after their 56-47 league win over Brookland (Brookland, AR).
