Mississippi High School Basketball - Baldwyn can't hold off New Site

January 17, 2023: New Site, MS 38859

The New Site Royals basketball team scored 53 points and restricted the visiting Baldwyn Bearcats to 49 in the Royals league victory on Tuesday.

The Royals now sport a 20-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Belmont for a 2A Region 1 contest on Friday, January 20. New Site will battle a Cardinals team coming off a 84-40 league win over Pine Grove (Ripley, MS). The Cardinals record now stands at 16-5.

The Bearcats (4-5) will now prepare for their contest against Walnut (Walnut, MS). The Wildcats come into the 2A Region 1 contest with a 12-7 record. In their last contest, Walnut edged East Union (Blue Springs, MS), 54-40, in a league contest.
