New Site Royals (New Site, MS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Baldwyn Bearcats (Baldwyn, MS), 37-31 in a non-league bout.

With the win, New Site upgrades its record to 16-4 on the season. The Royals travel to Booneville (Booneville, MS) to clash with the Blue Devils in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 7. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a record of 14-0. Booneville won 46-39 in their recent non-league bout against Biggersville (Corinth, MS)

Next up, the Bearcats clash with the Pine Grove Panthers (Ripley, MS) in a 2A Region 1 bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Baldwyn will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 2-13 record after their 43-37 non-league loss to Ripley (Ripley, MS).
