Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC) and the host Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC), saw Draughn's basketball squad wallop Owen by a tally of 72-43.

With the victory, Draughn improves its record to 10-6 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to East Burke (Connelly Springs, NC) to play the Cavaliers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 19. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a record of 13-1. East Burke won 65-25 in their recent league challenge against West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC)

Next up, the Warhorses play the Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC) in a 1A/2A Conference 42 challenge, on Friday, January 20. Owen will attempt to improve on its 8-10 season record. The Mountaineers come into the challenge with a 7-10 record after their 55-30 league win over Madison (Marshall, NC).
