With the victory, Walker Valley improves its record to 8-11 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Red Bank (Chattanooga, TN) to play the Lions in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 19. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 2-7.

The Cherokees now own a 8-9 record. They play next when they host Ooltewah for a 4A District 5 test on Friday, January 20. McMinn County will encounter a Owls squad coming off a 57-9 non-league win over Brainerd (Chattanooga, TN). The Owls record now stands at 3-10.
