Wheatland-Grinnell Thunderhawks (Grainfield, KS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Weskan Coyotes (Weskan, KS), 42-26 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Wheatland-Grinnell upgrades its record to 6-4 on the season. The Thunderhawks host Western Plains (Ransom, KS) to play the Bobcats in a non-league bout on Friday, January 20. The Bobcats go into the bout with a record of 1-2. Western Plains lost 31-29 in their recent non-league bout against Logan (Logan, KS)

Next up, the Coyotes play the Northern Valley Huskies (Almena, KS) in a Western Kansas Liberty bout, on Friday, January 20. Weskan will attempt to upgrade on its 4-6 season record. The Huskies go into the bout with a 6-4 record after their 59-23 league win over Triplains/Brewster (Brewster, KS).
