New Mexico High School Basketball - Wingate thwarts Crownpoint

The Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM) basketball knocked off the visiting Crownpoint Eagles (Crownpoint, NM), 49-33 in Wednesday's league test.
The Bears (5-10) will now prepare for their test against Zuni (Zuni, NM). The Thunderbirds go into the 3A District 1 test with a 8-5 record. In their last test, Zuni notched a victory over Laguna Acoma (New Laguna, NM), 57-42, in a non-league test.
The Eagles now own a 5-6 record. They play next when they host Tohatchi for a 3A District 1 test on Friday, January 19. Crownpoint will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 38-36 league win over Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM). The Cougars record now stands at 11-4.
