Crownpoint Eagles (Crownpoint, NM) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM), 70-41 in a league bout.

With the win, Crownpoint upgrades its record to 7-13 on the season. The Eagles travel to Zuni (Zuni, NM) to play the Thunderbirds in a 3A District 1 bout on Friday, February 16. The Thunderbirds go into the bout with a record of 13-9. Zuni lost 63-26 in their recent league bout against Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM)

Next up, the Bears play the Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM) in a 3A District 1 bout, on Wednesday, February 14. Wingate will attempt to upgrade on its 7-15 season record. The Skyhawks go into the bout with a 9-11 record after their 66-36 league loss to Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM).
