Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Cumby Trojans (Cumby, TX) and the visiting North Hopkins Panthers (Sulphur Springs, TX), saw Cumby's basketball squad knock off North Hopkins by a count of 47-35.

With the victory, Cumby upgrades its record to 8-16 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Como-Pickton (Como, TX) to play the Eagles in a 2A Region II District 15 challenge on Friday, January 19. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 14-12. Como-Pickton lost 46-35 in their recent league challenge against Alba-Golden (Alba, TX)

Next up, the Panthers play the Cooper Bulldogs (Cooper, TX) in a 2A Region II District 15 challenge, on Tuesday, January 23. North Hopkins will attempt to upgrade on its 11-16 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 13-12 record after their 59-39 league win over Fruitvale (Fruitvale, TX).
