Henderson Lions (Henderson, TX) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Spring Hill Panthers (Longview, TX), 47-32 in a league bout.

With the win, Henderson upgrades its record to 17-7 on the season. The Lions travel to Gilmer (Gilmer, TX) to play the Buckeyes in a 4A Region III District 17 bout on Friday, January 19. The Buckeyes go into the bout with a record of 9-9. Gilmer won 43-15 in their recent league bout against Spring Hill (Longview, TX)

Next up, the Panthers play the Kilgore Bulldogs (Kilgore, TX) in a 4A Region III District 17 bout, on Friday, January 19. Spring Hill will attempt to upgrade on its 12-14 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 3-12 record after their 52-35 league loss to Chapel Hill (Tyler, TX).
