Poteet Pirates (Mesquite, TX) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting North Mesquite Stallions (Mesquite, TX), 63-13 in a league bout.

With the win, Poteet upgrades its record to 16-11 on the season. The Pirates travel to West Mesquite (Mesquite, TX) to clash with the Wranglers in a 5A Region II District 12 bout on Friday, January 19. The Wranglers go into the bout with a record of 8-18. West Mesquite lost 39-37 in their recent league bout against Spruce (Dallas, TX)

Next up, the Stallions clash with the Seagoville Dragons (Dallas, TX) in a 5A Region II District 12 bout, on Friday, January 19. North Mesquite will attempt to upgrade on its 9-19 season record. The Dragons go into the bout with a 13-10 record after their 50-16 league win over Samuell (Dallas, TX).
