With the victory, Topsail improves its record to 5-7 on the campaign. The Pirates host Laney (Wilmington, NC) to play the Buccaneers in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 19. The Buccaneers come into the challenge with a record of 8-1. Laney won 72-17 in their recent non-league challenge against South Brunswick (Southport, NC)

Next up, the Cougars play the West Brunswick Trojans (Shallotte, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 19. South Brunswick will attempt to improve on its 3-8 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 7-4 record after their 60-47 non-league loss to North Brunswick (Leland, NC).
