In Friday's league contest, the host Pearland Oilers basketball team scored a big 52-22 triumph over the Alvin Yellowjackets.

The Oilers (15-10) will now prepare for their contest against Manvel (Manvel, TX). The Mavericks go into the 6A Region III District 22 contest with a 12-11 record. In their last contest, Manvel was trounced by Shadow Creek (Pearland, TX), 75-50, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Yellowjackets confront the South Houston Trojans (South Houston, TX) in a 6A Region III District 22 contest, on Wednesday, January 22. Alvin will attempt to better on its 12-16 season record. The Trojans go into the contest with a 16-9 record after their 76-55 league win over Sam Rayburn (Pasadena, TX).
