The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Morgan County Cougars (West Liberty, KY) and the visiting West Carter Comets (Olive Hill, KY), observed Morgan County's basketball team knock off West Carter by a score of 59-48.

The Cougars (5-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Lewis County (Vanceburg, KY). The Lions come into the non-league challenge with a 6-5 record. In their last challenge, Lewis County was knocked off by Elliott County (Sandy Hook, KY), 58-50, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Comets encounter the Russell Red Devils (Russell, KY) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 18. West Carter will attempt to improve on its 3-8 season record. The Red Devils come into the challenge with a 7-7 record after their 62-53 league win over Greenup County (Greenup, KY).
