The Bunker Hill Bears basketball squad (Claremont, NC), was crushed 62-25 in Friday's league battle with the host Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC)

With the victory, Newton-Conover advances its record to 12-2 on the year. The Red Devils host Maiden (Maiden, NC) to meet the Blue Devils in a 2A Catawba Valley battle on Tuesday, January 21. The Blue Devils enter the battle with a record of 14-2. Maiden won 57-42 in their recent league battle against Lincolnton (Lincolnton, NC)

The Bears now own a 4-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bandys for a 2A Catawba Valley battle on Tuesday, January 21. Bunker Hill will meet a Trojans squad coming off a 50-30 league win over West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC). The Trojans record now stands at 9-5.
