North Carolina High School Basketball - Providence Grove sneaks past Wheatmore

The Providence Grove Patriots (Franklinville, NC) basketball edged the visiting Wheatmore Warriors (Trinity, NC), 59-56 in Friday's league bout.

The Patriots now possess a 10-4 record. They play next when they travel to Eastern Randolph for a 1A/2A Piedmont bout on Tuesday, January 21. Providence Grove will play a Wildcats team coming off a 34-28 league loss to Trinity (Trinity, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 3-10.

With the loss, Wheatmore falls to 10-6 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Uwharrie Charter Academy (Asheboro, NC) to play the Eagles in a 1A/2A Piedmont bout on Tuesday, January 21. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 15-4. Uwharrie Charter Academy lost 59-45 in their recent league bout against Southwestern Randolph (Asheboro, NC)
