The South Caldwell Spartans basketball squad (Hudson, NC), was nudged 48-41 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC)
With the victory, Alexander Central advances its record to 5-8 on the year. The Cougars travel to Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to meet the Panthers in a battle on Tuesday, January 21. The Panthers enter the battle with a record of 2-9. Hibriten lost 72-44 in their recent league battle against Watauga (Boone, NC)
The Spartans now own a 6-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ashe County for a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 21. South Caldwell will meet a Huskies squad coming off a 69-11 non-league loss to Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 0-9.
