In Friday's non-league challenge, the visiting Wheatmore Warriors basketball team scored a close 47-40 win over the Providence Grove Patriots.

The Warriors (11-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Uwharrie Charter Academy (Asheboro, NC). The Eagles come into the challenge with a 5-9 record. In their last challenge, Uwharrie Charter Academy was tipped by Southwestern Randolph (Asheboro, NC), 48-27, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Patriots encounter the Eastern Randolph Wildcats (Ramseur, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 21. Providence Grove will attempt to improve on its 7-5 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 4-5 record after their 60-54 non-league win over Trinity (Trinity, NC).
