In Tuesday's league outing, the Sterling City Eagles (Sterling City, TX) basketball squad edged the host Water Valley Wildcats (Water Valley, TX), by a count of 36-32.
The Eagles (17-9) will now prepare for their outing against Bronte (Bronte, TX). The Longhorns go into the 1A Region II District 11 outing with a 3-8 record. In their last outing, Bronte was tipped by Irion County (Mertzon, TX), 50-18, in a league outing.
The Wildcats now hold a 14-8 record. They play next when they travel to Blackwell for a 1A Region II District 11 outing on Friday, January 21. Water Valley will clash with a Hornets squad coming off a 67-30 league loss to Robert Lee (Robert Lee, TX). The Hornets record now stands at 13-11.
