The Blacksburg Bruins basketball team scored 45 points and restricted the visiting George Wythe Maroons to 32 in the Bruins non-league victory on Wednesday.

The Bruins now sport a 9-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cave Spring for a River Ridge contest on Friday, January 20. Blacksburg will battle a Knights team coming off a 66-46 non-league win over Northside (Roanoke, VA). The Knights record now stands at 13-3.

The Maroons (11-3) will now prepare for their contest against Auburn (Riner, VA). The Eagles come into the Mountain Empire contest with a 7-9 record. In their last contest, Auburn prevailed over Giles (Pearisburg, VA), 50-42, in a league contest.
