In Thursday's league outing, the Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC) basketball squad beat the visiting Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC), by a count of 38-25.

The Buckin' Elks (6-8) will now prepare for their outing against South Stokes (Walnut Cove, NC). The Sauras go into the 1A Northwest outing with a 8-6 record. In their last outing, South Stokes was topped by North Stokes (Danbury, NC), 59-37, in a league outing.

The Trojans now hold a 1-13 record. They play next when they host Mount Airy for a 1A Northwest outing on Tuesday, January 23. Alleghany will clash with a Granite Bears squad coming off a 46-36 league loss to Starmount (Boonville, NC). The Granite Bears record now stands at 3-9.
