North Carolina High School Basketball - Elkin edges Alleghany

February 9, 2024: Sparta, NC 28675

The Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC) basketball nipped the host Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC), 37-32 in Friday's league test.

The Buckin' Elks (7-14) will now prepare for their test against Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC). The Granite Bears go into the 1A Northwest test with a 6-15 record. In their last test, Mount Airy was tipped by North Surry (Mount Airy, NC), 44-26, in a non-league test.

The Trojans now own a 1-20 record. They play next when they host Starmount for a 1A Northwest test on Tuesday, February 13. Alleghany will encounter a Rams squad coming off a 52-44 league loss to South Stokes (Walnut Cove, NC). The Rams record now stands at 6-16.
