The Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants basketball team scored 40 points and restricted the host St. Joseph Bears to 29 in the Maroon Giants non-league victory on Thursday.

The Maroon Giants now sport a 5-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lakeshore for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 23. Kalamazoo Central will battle a Lancers team coming off a 53-44 league loss to Portage Central (Portage, MI). The Lancers record now stands at 8-1.

The Bears (2-6) will now prepare for their contest against Lakeview (Battle Creek, MI). The Spartans come into the non-league contest with a 2-9 record. In their last contest, Lakeview was defeated by Central (Battle Creek, MI), 43-27, in a league contest.
