Saltillo Lions (Saltillo, TX) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Union Hill Bulldogs (Gilmer, TX), 82-27 in a league bout.

With the victory, Saltillo upgrades its record to 21-7 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Sulphur Bluff (Sulphur Bluff, TX) to play the Bears in a 1A Region III District 24 bout on Friday, January 19. The Bears come into the bout with a record of 10-15. Sulphur Bluff won 46-20 in their recent league bout against Union Hill (Gilmer, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Bloomburg Wildcats (Bloomburg, TX) in a 1A Region III District 24 bout, on Friday, January 19. Union Hill will attempt to upgrade on its 5-9 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 15-7 record after their 41-9 league win over Avery (Avery, TX).
